Inappropriate Valentine Card for Children: Wet and Wild for You

wet-and-wild.jpg

Is it me, or is this Valentine grossly inappropriate? I’m certainly no Puritanical prude, but a card that says “Wet and Wild for you, Valentine” doesn’t seem to be the right thing for my five year old daughter to bring to school. My wife saw this in the pack of cards she bought them for school and showed it to me with a raised eyebrow. We pulled the offending cards from the collection and I’m trying to figure out something funny to do with them.

WoW, where would we be without people who like to push their dirty thoughts onto their children? Overreact much?

Something funny to do with them. Like say, sending them to school with your kid? For not being a prude it sure seems like you cant take a joke.

It pains me to see that this is what our society has fallen to. Do you honestly think that a child under the age of say 14 would get any sort of sexual reference out of that? No. And years later they might pull it out of a long lost pile of papers from their childhood and get a laugh out of it. Take it for what it is, not for some subliminal message that some card manufacturer is allegedly trying to put into the young minds of America. This sort of thing sickens me, but if you honestly believe it's harmful, then I guess it's best to do what you did.... possibly without posting it on the internet next time.
