New Service Lets Hong Kong Lovers Track Each Other 24/7
What could be more romantic than tracking your loved one from afar?
That’s what some 10,000 residents of Hong Kong are doing. For just $28.00 a month, a new service called Follow Me, Follow U enables suspicious lovers to keep track of each other wherever they might be — if they’re carrying a GPS-enabled cellphone.
It’s an opt-in service, and both partners must consent to be tracked. But a push of a button brings up a colorful city map with the exact location of the other person any time of the day or night. Is he or she really working late? Why not check?
Follow Me, Follow U is also a big hit with parents who want to keep tabs on their kids. The service is currently not available outside China, but the technology should work with most mobile phone systems.
