You’ve probably had this problem before: a sink full of slithering, slimy live eels and nothing to pick them up with but your bare hands.

Slippery little bastards, aren’t they?  Pick one up wrong, and you’ll soon be scrabbling across the floor trying to beat kitty to a jumbo size sushi treat. But it turns out there’s a right way to yank your eel. The trick is to hook it with your middle finger about a third of the way below the eel’s head.
