Meet Kenny George: At 7′7″ He’s the Tallest Basketball Player in the Country

kenny-george.jpgThere’s a park in my hometown that has a mini-basketball court- it’s half the size of a traditional court complete with mini-hoops. Since I shot up a few extra inches after high school to a towering 6′3″ I’ve been able to dunk there without leaving the ground. My basketball skillz are mostly limited to my size so it’s fun to get out and play there whenever I’m back in the area.

Kenny George knows that feeling, but he dunks sans jumps on the real hoops. He’s 7′7″.

Kenny is the tallest basketball player in the country and weighs in at 360 lbs. of built to ball. While he shines on the court for the University of North Carolina-Asheville, life for a guy with size 24 shoes is not easy. He’s too big to drive, bumps his head on every door way known to man this side of Shaq’s house, and has to battle joint pain due to his massive stature.

Check out Kenny in action. How to try to rebound against that?

The New York Times has a good article on him, hit it up to read more about Mr. George.
