Fans of South Park will have no problem remembering the scene in Red Sleigh Down where terrorists shoot down Santa with a rocket propelled grenade over downtown Bagdad. A few days ago art imitated life when a Brazilian Santa Claus was riding in a helicopter on his way to cheer up the children living in the slum of Nova Mare and was shot at by suspected drug traffickers. They thought the helicopter, which sadly was not lead by a red nosed reindeer, was a police chopper and unleashed a hail of bullets skyward.

Lucky for Señor Claus his helicopter didn’t go down and beat a hasty retreat back to base. Santa continued on to the event via car, again sans bright nosed reindeer, none the worse for wear.

I wouldn’t want to be in those drug traffickers homes on Christmas eve. Santa can forgive, but he never forgets. “Ho ho ho motherf*ckers, now you’re gonna die!”
