For You, a Special Deal on Hanukkah Ham

You know, nothing really quite brings to mind Judas Maccabaeus and the miracle of the Temple oil quite like a deal on pork:

Hanukkah ham

The first time this was tipped to us, it was over at Seth Godin’s blog. But a little creative Googling finally led us to the original source, NancyKay Shapiro. She spotted these tender, spiral cut Hanukkah delicacies not in a part of the country where there isn’t much of a Jewish population and store clerks don’t know any better, but in the heart of New York’s Greenwich Village. The Big Apple? Yeah, there are some Jews.

According to Shapiro, the hams were tagged for Hanukkha when she visited Balducci’s. She posted a few snapshots to her Live Journal page. Before long, the mainstream press has picked them up, and Balducci’s was making their red-faced apologies. Oopsie.

Shapiro has tagged her Hanukkha ham pictures to some fun items over at Cafe Press. They’d make great gift items, no matter which set of holidays you’re celebrating in December.
