A Massachusetts court has ruled that Heidi Erickson can keep her dead, frozen cats.

Officials charged the Boston woman with animal cruelty after discovering 60 dead cats stored in her Beacon Hill apartment. Most had been frozen.

The city seized the animals for evidence — along with four live cats and a dog. That was back in 2003. Erickson was eventually convicted, but the state’s highest court ruled Thursday that her live animals and two frozen cats must be returned.

Erickson can do anything she wishes with her deep-frozen kitties, as long as she complies with local health codes.
