Sushi for One Thousand, To Go

The snarfd Department of Linguistics tells us that this Japanese language report on the capture of a 1.3 ton ocean sunfish off the coast of Tottori Prefecture amounts to a nearly two minute promotional announcement for an upcoming episode of Iron Chef. Judge for yourself:

It’s a pretty hefty sunfish, though no record. Average specimens are in the one-ton range. While the European Union has banned ocean sunfish consumption, it’s highly prized by Japanese sushi chefs. This particular specimen should make a California roll roughly the size of a city block.
