Sexiest. Teapot. Ever.

Sorapot
If Apple did housewares, this might be the iPot.

Designer Joey Roth calls his baby the Sorapot. It’s a radically minimalist reinterpretation of the teapot — a vision transforming a familiar, everyday item into something more like modern art.

Sorapot: rearThe Sorapot will certainly ratchet up the sexy on your Earl Grey, but it’s not all about looks. The cast metal arch which makes up Sorapot’s handle also acts as a heat sink, something Roth intends to prevent over-steeping of delicate teas. And, unlike many conventional teapots, the Sorapot’s glass and metal components are fully recyclable.

But, alas: Roth tells snarfd that the Sorapot won’t quite be ready for sale before Christmas. All the more reason to plan a particularly special Valentine’s for the significant person in your life. Start with the Sorapot. Add a pair of these striking teacups by Japanese designer Isamu Noguchi, or something with more traditional lines from Royal Doulton. Some of Peet’s superb Lion Mountain Keemun tea and a selection of Alison’s Organic Gourmet Cookies, and it’s hero time. Drink up.
